Teacher/Parent Communication

There are several ways in which I keep regular contact with parents.

1. Weekly Progress Folders will come home every Thursday or Friday. They will include, but not be limited to…

- A parent note- this will have the weekly spelling words and any announcements or current events coming up

- Missing work reports that must be signed and returned by the next Monday

- Behavior Evaluation Sheets that must be signed and returned by the next Monday

- Permission Slips

- School forms that need to be signed

- The student's graded pass back papers

2. I regularly email parents with any noteworthy updates that pertain to academics, behavior and/ or extra school programs.

3. Students may be calling home if they are not turning in their homework on time consistently each daily

4. You can check the class web page for weekly assignments. There are 2 ways to access the web page. There is a link for our webpage at the school website. You can go to http://www.lla.org and click on the “elementary” link. From there click on “classroom links”. Look for my name on the teacher list and click on it. This will take you into our class website. Or, you can go to  http://mwinchell.wixsite.com/winchell5thgrade

Here are the best ways to reach me.

1. Email me @ mwinchell@lla.org- this is the best way to get ahold of me. I check my email several times a day and am prompt at replying to any questions, comments or concerns you may have.

2. Call my classroom- ex: 1497- and leave me a message. I may not answer the phone during class time, but I am prompt about returning any of your calls. if it is an emergency and i do not pick up, call the office and they will get ahold of me.
